How coaches verify breath tests remotely

There are four common ways. Each proves a little more than the last, and none proves everything.

A photo of the reading
Shows a number on a screen. It doesn’t show when it was taken, who blew, or whether it’s today’s photo.
A video selfie
Shows a person and a reading. Without something fresh in it, an old video can be resent.
A connected device
Systems like Soberlink and BACtrack View send results straight from their own device, often with a photo or video. You use their hardware and pay per person.
A video with fresh words
The client says random words issued for that attempt, then blows and shows the reading in one take. It shows the video was made after the request. It doesn’t prove who is on camera. This is how Daylight works.

Whatever you use

  • Agree in writing on the schedule, the response window, and what a missed test means.
  • Ask for the whole sequence in one take: face, sample, final reading.
  • Read every digit. 0.001 is not zero.
  • Decide what happens with an unreadable screen before it happens.
  • Keep the original video, not a screenshot.

Start with one client.

Create an account, add a client, and walk through the first check-in together on a call. The guided setup never sends a message you haven’t seen.
